Gifts for the person who has everything - or wants it

With the economy riding a roller coaster, it’s likely more of us will be reaching for the Sears Christmas Wish book rather than the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book this year when it comes to presents under the tree.

But that isn’t going to stop the extravagant retailer from whetting our holiday appetites with trips, toys and a car that costs way more than what’s left in our 401(k).

A few items from the “Wow” section of the 2008 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book:
• Limited Edition 2009 BMW 7 Series Sedan: Not only do you get the car (hurry, they have only 31 of them), but also a four-day trip to Munich, Germany, and a tour of the plant where it is made. How much: $160,000.

• Life-size replicas in Lego Bricks: The annual His & Hers gifts are sculptures in those famous interlocking bricks we’ve all stepped on in the middle of the night. Artist Nathan Sawaya will build statues of you, your grandkids or Fido. How much: $60,000

• Jack Nicklaus Custom Backyard Course Package: Look out the bedroom window at your own three-hole course designed by the world’s greatest golfer. And when the crew is done tearing up your yard, the Golden Bear will come to the house and play the first round with you. How much: begins at $1 million.

• Harlem Globetrotters On-Court Experience: Show off your ball skills with the world’s winningest basketball team. The package includes guaranteed playing time in a game and a personalized official uniform. How much: $110,000

• Authentic Guinness Home Pub: Raise a glass in your own Irish pub, built in your home, complete with Guinness artifacts and fixtures. You’ll also get a VIP trip to Dublin and a tour of St. James’s Gate Brewery and a year’s supply of Guinness stout. How much: $250,000
Prices on these gifts vary depending on delivery costs and ground or home preparation.
